the san fran virtuoso devvy dub is ready for a change
earlier this week, san fran’s resident genreblending hitmaker devvy dub announced that his debut album, revolution, will officially drop next year.
currently slated for release on the 22nd of january, the announcement followed on the heels of dub’s latest single ‘feels nice’ – an indie-sleaze-flavoured taster of what’s yet to come.
co-produced by jeff hazin, whose list of collaborations includes kali uchis, glaive, and pawpaw rod, the high-energy track details out devvy dub’s musical journey to date.
“i wanted to open up about the sacrifices i’ve made while chasing the dream of being a musician,” he explained. “it’s an introspective song, but still happy and fast-paced.”
though revolution is devvy dub’s inaugural lp, the arkansas-born musician is no newcomer – his first-ever single ‘transparent’ came out in 2018.
in the years that followed, the self-proclaimed one-man-band went on to release two extended plays, sorry i’m late, i didn’t want to come and hero; the latter of the two spawned the musician’s breakthrough song, ‘pledge’, which has racked up over seven million streams on spotify since its release in 2025.
now, with a full-length studio album on the way, he continues to make music on his own terms. speaking about the forthcoming project, he revealed that “revolution is an ode” to the music he grew up listening to.
“i wanted it to feel nostalgic but new at the same time. i think this collection of songs is something extremely new and refreshing in my catalogue, it’s unlike any of my previous work,” devvy dub continued. “the album talks about sacrifice, love, and the newness of becoming a rising indie artist.”
