Out of all the microtrends that have emerged in recent years, #poetcore might just be our absolute fave. how could it not, really? it might’ve taken most – ahem, some – of us by surprise, but its rise in popularity certainly reflects a generational shift rooted not only in strong collective values, but also the fact that a person’s lifestyle is now an integral part of their self-expression.
book clubs are on the rise (yes, reading is thankfully cool again), the prosperity of analogue media continues to provide a safe haven from ai slop, and don’t even get us started on the concept of yearning… we could go on for hours.
according to pinterest predicts, Gen Z and Millennials are certainly tapping into the trend: searches for ‘the poet aesthetic’ are up by +175% on the platform, which suggests that dressing up like your grandparents will likely stick around for a little while.
