get ready to dance your heart out!
if you’re familiar with ananya’s sound, the grooviness of her brand-new single, ‘falling’, won’t come as a surprise.
however, if you’re yet to immerse yourself in her discography (ahem… what are you waiting for?!), let us tell you one thing – it’s time to dust off your dancing shoes.
the multi-instrumentalist’s latest offering is a song that gets you off your feet and then gets you in your feelings. it’s a catchy little tune that reflects on the aftermath of falling for someone at the wrong time. ouch!
“It’s about timing, restraint, and the quiet ache that comes with unspoken feelings,” says the Zimbabwe-born, london-based musician. “It’s for anyone who’s ever felt too much and said too little. I hope it feels like dancing through your own emotional chaos.”
in celebration of her new single, ananya has listed out the five things that inspire her the most… in her own words!
check ’em out below.
making
Being creative outside of music will always be a source of inspiration for me. Growing up, we were creative in every way we could be. Some of my favorite activities were with my sisters, my mom, and the garden, whether collecting and pressing flowers or making handmade paper.
I also studied fashion design in NYC, so anything related to that world is a huge inspiration. Which brings me to my next point…

new york city!
There’s no place on the planet that inspires me like my beloved New York. There’s a buzz, a current that keeps you on your toes, whether you’re crying or dancing.
It’s a place where I feel most like myself, even though it’s seen so many different versions of me.
Love ❤
Continuously learning about this special thing we call love.
Love has taught me to be vulnerable with my most precious emotions; to never be shy about showing it; and to see just how big our hearts can be.

nature
Home and nature are huge sources of inspiration for me. I was so lucky to have a childhood full of sunshine and greenery in Zimbabwe, and living in London has only made me appreciate nature even more.
Whenever I manage to get away, I always make sure to pack my film camera to capture beautiful landscapes.
watching live music
Watching my favorite artists share their gift is motivating in ways I can’t even put into words, especially when I get to share the moment with a loved one.
It’s such a beautiful reminder of how powerful and impactful music can be.
