"but summers weren't made to last, no," claims annabel gutherz in her brand-new single
aptly named ‘summer’s here’, annabel gutherz’s latest music offering not only lives through sentimental nostalgia but also acts as “a keepsake for summer love and freckles” as the singer-songwriter herself puts it.
it’s a rendition of sun-soaked adventures by the beach – the very first romance, even – accompanied by tender string melodies. and it’s an ever-so-sweet soundtrack to say goodbye to the warmer season as august slowly brings the end of summer.
in celebration of her new track, the montreal-based musician has listed the top five things that inspire her the most. in her own words!
check ’em out below.
ART
Art, in all its forms, reminds me that beauty is a language we all speak.
It invites us to see more deeply, to feel more fully, and to connect across time and space.
For example, artists like Fleetwood Mac remind us that vulnerability can be alchemized into something eternal. Art, at its best, makes us feel less alone and more alive. That’s what I strive for in my work!

love
Love is the heartbeat of everything I create.
It’s the thread that connects us, the ache that expands us, and the force that teaches us how to be tender and brave at once.
It inspires me to write with an open heart.
humanity
There’s something so profoundly moving about the resilience, complexity, and shared longing in all of us.
Humanity – the collective pulse of our hopes, flaws – and dreams, drives me to write songs that reflect not perfection, but truth.
I’m inspired by what connects us beneath the noise.

traveling
Travel opens up my senses and my perspective in the most beautiful ways!
Every new place feels like a song waiting to be written, a mosaic of colors, cultures, and stories. It makes me more curious, more present, and more attuned to the world’s quiet poetry!
Friends, Family, and Experiences that Shape Me
My friends and family are my grounding light and emotional compass.
The experiences I share with them, whether joyful, painful, or otherwise, fuel my music with honesty.
They remind me that the most meaningful stories often begin in the everyday moments we carry close.
