march is over and out. so, what better time to recap on some of the most exciting music drops of last month?
here are our favourites.

Claire Rosinkranz — LUCY
after what felt like a forever-and-a-half, the mastermind behind laid-back pop bangers such as ‘backyard boy’ and ‘don’t miss me’ is back.
and, well, the time that went into the making of claire rosinkranz’s latest offering, ‘lucy’, shows exactly why the wait was definitely worth it.
it’s an incredibly vibrant… ahem, juicy earworm with synths that rosinkranz has become known for.

Rachel Chinouriri — CAN WE TALK ABOUT ISAAC?
rachel chinouriri has got all the right ingredients to be one of the greatest musicians of our generation. to be honest, she already is in our eyes.
charismatic, gifted with a melodious vocal, and as witty as a songwriter could be – chinouriri is a pop star through and through, and ‘can we talk about isaac?’ proves that she’s here to stay.

lyn lapid — death wish
singer-songwriter lyn lapid is gearing up for the release of her debut album, buzzkill, with a brand-new single, ‘death wish’.
“I know it sounds bad like a death wish, uh-oh / but cupid keeps killin’ my friendships,” lapid opens up in the chorus. losing friends to relationships is an unfortunate phenomenon many are all too familiar with. ouch.
lapid’s introspective lyricism, layered with a prominent bassline and stunning vocals, turns ‘death wish’ into a song that simply doesn’t fall through the cracks. it might cut deep (growing up is weird, after all), but oh well, at least we’ve got an excellent song to scream our lungs out to.
will be interesting to see how it fits in with the rest of the album when it’s out on april 25th.

JACOB BANKS — A Tree Never Waters Itself
sincere and full of heart, ‘a tree never waters itself’ sees jacob banks at his best.
the song was already a masterclass in songwriting and performance, but the colorsxstudios rendition adds an extra layer of greatness. banks is one of the most talented vocalists on this planet, that much is clear – and this live performance is nothing short of perfection.
banks’s vocals? divine. the trumpets? excellent. this song? a must-add to your spring / summer playlists.

LOUD HOUND & joypill — isabella’s bed / farewell, my willow
double the music, double the fun, hey? rising stars loud hound and joypill have teamed up for a double single, titled ‘isabella’s bed / farewell, my willow’.
the tracks, both sombre in their sound, offer listeners a glimpse of what’s to come from the musicians’ forthcoming joint album, isabella’s bed. and based on what we’ve heard so far, it seems that the project will delve deep into the levels of introspection you’re left with when you can’t stop pondering the what ifs and maybes.
